Abstract

Author cinema stands out in a world full of formulaic films and gives something different tothe viewer in movie theaters. With “Licorice Pizza” (Anderson, 2021), a 2022 Oscar nominatedfilm, Paul Thomas Anderson claims to be one of the best directors of the first decades of21st century. Despite several productions of an intimate nature, it is worth asking what placethis new film occupies in cinematographic universe of North American filmmaker.
