Abstract

The time when movie theaters screened Armando Bo’s and John Waters ‘s films evolutionized cinema. The lowering costs allowed independent films in which experimentation was the norm. nouvelle vague statement struck against conventions of art, marking a pattern of creative freedom in visual and narrative aesthetics: use of hand camera, absence of artificial lighting, recording in natural locations and stylistic innovation. It is not surprising that characters such as Isabel Sarli and mythical Divine, deeply revolutionary, were born.
